Post-doctoral researcher (m/f/d)

Intended starting date is 1 October 2023, but a later date can be negotiated. The contract duration is for three years. An extension may be possible. 

Our research
The researchers at the Chair of International Economics study the globalization, organization and innovation decisions of firms. We are interested in understanding the implications of these decisions for firm growth and employees’ careers and wages. Current projects focus on understanding how digitalization and new technologies affect firm decisions as well as firm and employee outcomes. 

The position
The post-doctoral researcher is expected to develop his/her own research agenda and to improve his/her qualification for a tenured position. The Chair will provide active support to achieve this goal. We offer

  • Funding to finance conference trips, hire student research assistants, invite coauthors etc. 

The post-doctoral researcher will be involved in teaching at the Chair. The teaching obligation is five hours per week and term in the undergraduate and graduate programs. The Chair will provide complete sets of teaching material. 

Your profile
We are looking for a highly motivated, curiosity-driven candidate that holds (or is about to finish) a Ph.D. in economics or a related discipline (e.g., management, data science). The candidate should have a strong research interest and background in international, organizational or innovation economics broadly defined. Fluency in English is indispensable. German skills are not necessary.

The University’s School of Business and Economics has a faculty of more than 30 professors, junior professors, and post docs. It attracts excellent students in its B.Sc. and M.Sc. programs, in part due to its strong international orientation.
