Fox Center's Visiting Faculty Fellowship

The Fox Center's Visiting Faculty Fellowship is open to faculty in any humanistic discipline who hold full-time, continuing appointments at Atlanta-area institutions of higher education. Each year, we select a number of Visiting Faculty Fellows whose current research is in dialogue with our annual theme.

During their fellowship year, Visiting Faculty Fellows participate in our weekly in-person fellows' seminar (Wednesdays from noon to 2pm during the semester), where they share their own works in progress and receive constructive feedback from their peers. They are also invited to in-person events throughout the year, including programming connected to the annual research theme. Visiting Faculty Fellows receive a stipend of $2,000 to support their research. Those whose fellowship coincides with a leave from their home institution may be eligible for office space in the Center.

Our Visiting Faculty Fellowship program launched in 2024 and we have so far hosted fellows from Spelman College, Georgia State University, Mercer University, and Georgia Institute of Technology.

Please note: For our AY 2027-28 Visiting Faculty Fellowships, we do not require that applicants' research directly engage with our theme of Humanities Plural. However, we ask that applicants address how their project relates to significant methodological, theoretical, or conceptual issues in the humanities. 

How to Apply

To apply, please complete our online application form in Interfolio. You will be asked to upload the following documents:

• Project description (1000 words maximum, including a timeline for the fellowship year) 
• Curriculum vitae 
• Email information for your department chair 

It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure that all required documents are uploaded to Interfolio and submitted. Incomplete applications cannot be considered after the deadline.
