IMÉRA ARTS & SCIENCES PROGRAMME┋Necessary Utopias Residency

The artistic research projects concerned in the framework of this residency must be developed according to the orientations of the transversal program "Arts & Sciences: Indisciplined Knowledge" and in connection with one of the topics proposed by the program "Necessary Utopias".

• Application deadline: October 17 2022 1 pm (Paris time)
• Duration of residencies: 5
• Suggested periods of residencies: From February 12 2024 to July 5 2024 (5 months - semester 2).

Eligibility criteria

Applications are open to artists, juniors or seniors according to the specific conditions detailed below:

• Not to have lived in France more than 12 months during the three years preceding this call for applications.
• No pre-requirements of diploma and employment contract.

Remuneration and accommodation

Artists will receive €2,000 monthly allowance or salary (depending on their candidate status).

Residents will also benefit from paid travel expenses and free accommodation on IMERA premises.

Selection criteria

Application assessment criteria include, but are not limited to:

• Candidate's history.
• A presentation of the research project that would be conducted during the residency (maximum 5 pages) followed by a selective bibliography (optional) and a list of artistic and scientific references.
• Interaction perspective with Aix-Marseille University labs.
• The interdisciplinary approach; based on a proven practice and a project where it is feasible.

1. A curriculum vitae including a list of former works for artists.
2. A presentation of the project (maximum 5 pages) followed by a list of artistic references
3. A letter of support from an Aix-Marseille University researcher or associate/assistant professor OR a letter of motivation clearly explaining the interest for the candidate to interact with Aix-Marseille laboratories and to lead a project from Aix-Marseille.
