Postdoctoral Fellow in Labor Economics and the Economics of Crime at the Swedish Institute for Social Research (SOFI)

The Swedish Institute for Social Research (SOFI) has an opening for the postdoctoral position in Labor Economics and the Economics of Crime. Apply for the position before Februari 1, 2024.

The Swedish Institute for Social Research (SOFI) is part of the Faculty of Social Sciences at Stockholm University. The institute is an internationally leading research institute in the field of social policy, welfare, inequality and labour markets and has about 110 employees.

The economics of crime is a sub-field of labor economics that aims to understand both how individuals within the criminal justice system, ranging from offenders to police to judges, make decisions as well as the consequences of those decisions.

We are now hiring a postdoctoral in Labor Economics and the Economics of Crime. The research project is entitled, “Breaking the Inequality-Crime Cycle: Biases in Police Decisions, 'What Works' in Prison, and Firm Demand for Workers with Criminal Records” and is funded by the European Research Council with Prof. Randi Hjalmarsson (Gothenburg University) as the PI and Prof. Matthew Lindquist as the local research coordinataor at SOFI, Stockholm University.
