Postdoctoral Fellowship in the History of East Asia or South Asia
The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Cooper Union invites applications for a one-year postdoctoral Teaching Fellowship in History with specialization in East Asia or South Asia. The Fellowship, which runs from September 2017 through May 2018, is open to candidates who have been awarded the Ph.D after September 1, 2012.
The Cooper Union is a predominantly undergraduate institution offering baccalaureate degrees in Art, Architecture, and Engineering.
The Fellowship requires teaching three courses, two in the interdisciplinary core curriculum in humanities and social sciences required of all students, and an elective in the Fellow's area of interest.
Compensation is $45,000 plus benefits.
We are seeking a postdoctoral Fellow committed to both undergraduate teaching and scholarly research. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the work of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and of the Cooper Union as a whole, including meetings and further development and diversification of our curriculum. He or she will also offer a seminar presentation on an issue relevant to the Fellow's own research.
Review of applications will begin on April 15 and continue until an appointment is made.
