The Cluster of Excellence “Climate, Climatic Change, and Society” (CLICCS) investigates climate dynamics and climate-related social dynamics, as well as the interactions between the two. To this end, we are looking for colleagues from a wide range of disciplines, including the natural sciences as well as the social sciences. Your responsibilities
Duties include academic services in the project named above. Research associates may also pursue independent research and further academic qualifications.
The main responsibility is to conduct an ethnographic case study on emotional responses to climate change and publish the results in a monograph or series of papers. In addition, the candidate is expected to contribute to joint publications within the team and address the overarching aim of investigating how people in different contexts react emotionally to climate change and which consequences this has.
Your profile
A university degree in a relevant field, plus doctorate.
Master’s degree in Anthropology.
In addition, the candidate must have sustained and documented knowledge of philosophy, especially phenomenological theories, and international publications (peer-reviewed) in the field of climate change anthropology. Experience of long-term ethnographic fieldwork is also required.
