Samuel W. and Goldye Marian Spain Postdoctoral Fellowship in Jewish Studies

The Program in Jewish Studies at Rice University in Houston, Texas, invites applications for the Samuel W. and Goldye Marian Spain Postdoctoral Fellowship. The appointment will be for the academic year 2019-20, with renewal possible for 2020-21. Candidates must hold a PhD by July 1, 2019, and must have received it no earlier than 2014. Scholars from all fields of Jewish Studies will be considered, but the Program is particularly interested in scholars specializing in modern Jewish thought, non-European Jewish cultures and histories, migration and diaspora, and ethics. Candidates who can teach courses with broad appeal are encouraged to apply.

The teaching load will be one course per semester. The fellow is also expected to contribute to our outreach program. The annual stipend will be $55,000 plus benefits.
