About the opportunity

 

This position offers an opportunity to join a dynamic research team focused on multisectoral food systems policy and public health. Our research programme is multi-disciplinary and action-oriented. We partner with researchers internationally on policy-relevant research and collaborative analyses to address urgent global health and nutrition challenges.

 

This position will be based within the Leeder Centre for Health Policy, Economics and Data, known for high quality health policy research, analysis, advice and education. We focus on improving public health outcomes through policy innovation and practical implementation. The Centre has a particular interest in the policy conundrums posed by the growing challenge of chronic illness.

 

We are seeking a Senior Research Fellow to join the research team. In this role, you will work closely with the reporting manager, Professor Anne-Marie Thow, to supervise ongoing research and undertake high level engagement for co-design of dissemination strategies and outputs with Partners for an NHMRC-funded project on policy for healthy and sustainable food systems. This role will require the preferred candidate to complete varying tasks on a day-to-day basis, always working adaptably and flexibly.

 

 

Your key responsibilities will be to:

 

·       supervise collaborative policy analysis and governance research related to food systems and nutrition in a multidisciplinary research team

·       contribute to project management

·       supervising and/or lead the preparation of academic papers and policy briefs

·       lead stakeholder and partner engagement in research and translation

·       contribute to a positive workplace culture in which diversity of thought, contribution, collaboration, excellence and achieving outcomes are valued and enabled

 

 

About you

 

·       holds a PhD relevant to nutrition policy and/or food systems governance

·       has strong research experience relevant to food systems and nutrition

·       has strong experience in research partnerships and research translation, including organizing and leading meetings for research teams and project stakeholders

·       is proficient in multidisciplinary project management and policy analysis methods and interpretation
