Wuhan University is proud to announce the resumption of the Wuhan University International Research Fellowship in philosophy.

ABOUT US

Located in the city of Wuhan, Wuhan University is an elite research university in mainland China, with the highest-ranked philosophy program in mainland China and the 43rd highest ranked philosophy program in the world according to the QS rankings. Our large, international faculty is engaged in all areas of philosophical research, with scholars dedicated to traditional Chinese philosophy, contemporary western philosophy, ethics, aesthetics, philosophy of religion, and Marxist philosophy. ABOUT THE FELLOWSHIP

This is a two-year post-doctoral fellowship, intended to provide a forum for outstanding recent PhDs to develop their research projects. No teaching is required, although applicants interested in taking on teaching responsibilities during their time here can be accommodated. The starting date is September 1, 2024. Salary is120,000-180,000 RMB annually (well above the median income in the area); health insurance included. Some candidates will be eligible for additional funding up to 300,000 RMB. Fellows who develop an impressive publication record during their fellowship are occasionally offered full-time positions at the end of the fellowship.

APPLICANTS

Applicants should have a well-developed research project, which they will pursue during the course of the fellowship at Wuhan University. Publication in major international journals is expected. Please be aware that this position will involve relocation to mainland China, and take this fact into account when deciding to apply. Due to unfortunate requirements tied to university postdoc funding, applicants must be under the age of 35 by September 2024.
