Postdoctoral Fellow & Visiting Lecturer, Russian Studies Workshop

The Russian Studies Workshop at Indiana University’s School of Global and International Studies invites applications for two Postdoctoral fellowships. The fellowships begin January 1, 2017 and are for up to three academic semesters, until June 1, 2018. Applications from Social Science disciplines (including History) are welcome. Applicants should have active research programs on Russian politics (domestic or foreign) and/or society while contributing to disciplinary debates. Requirements: Each fellow will teach two courses during the fellowship period.

Edmond J. Safra Center for Ethics Fellows-in-Residence Program

The Edmond J. Safra Center for Ethics at Harvard University invites applications from a broad range of researchers and practitioners who will work over the course of the year on pressing issues in ethics. Faculty in arts and sciences and professional schools, postdoctoral scholars, practitioners, and researchers from industry, government, and NGOs are eligible to apply. The call for applications for the 2024-25 is completely open: we will consider any topic pertaining to the serious ethical questions of our time.

Visiting Fellowship at ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute, Singapore: "Premodern maritime history of Southeast Asia"

The Nalanda-Sriwijaya Centre (NSC) of the ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute (ISEAS) in Singapore pursues research on historical interactions among Asian societies and civilizations prior to the 17th century. NSC is now accepting applications for Visiting Fellowship positions from scholars at all ranks who wish to undertake research and writing on Premodern maritime history of Southeast Asia. Research to focus on trade routes in the Southeast Asian region or maritime economic linkages to China or India.

University of Wyoming Visiting Senior Scholar in Global Studies

The University of Wyoming Global and Area Studies Program invites applications for a senior scholar-in-residence position to begin in August 2017 or January 2018. Supported by the Wyoming Excellence in Higher Education Endowment, the Visiting Senior Scholar in Global Studies will enrich and broaden UW’s Global and Area Studies Program and in particular our recent focus on human security.

Grants for Independent Young Scientists for Research Stays in Romania

The Romanian Institute of Science and Technology invites applications for grants aimed at young researchers who wish to conduct, manage and lead an independent project within the institute. The call is open to all scientists, regardless of current place of work, citizenship or nationality. The grants constitute a unique opportunity for a transition from a postdoctoral position to independent research. The research projects will be funded with up to 550,000 lei (about 122,000 euros) for up to 2 years by UEFISCDI, a Romanian research funding agency.

The International Research Center "Work and Human Lifecycle in Global History" at Humboldt University in Berlin, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) invites scholars to apply for international research fellowships (senior scholars and postdoctoral candidates) for the 2018-2019 academic year. Eight to twelve fellowships will be awarded. Applications are due in Berlin on 10 September 2017.
