The Center for Khmer Studies (CKS) provides research fellowships to French scholars in all disciplines in the social sciences and the humanities who seek to pursue further research focusing on Cambodia alone or on Cambodia within a regional context. Scholars can conduct research in other countries in mainland Southeast Asia (including Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Myanmar, and southern China) provided that some portion of their research is undertaken in Cambodia.

The Mellon Fellowship of Scholars in the Humanities program is a unique opportunity for recent PhD recipients in the humanities to develop as scholars and teachers. Up to four fellowships will be awarded for a two-year term (with the possibility of a third year extension). Fellows teach two courses per year in one of Stanford’s humanities departments or interdisciplinary programs, where they will be provided office space and a faculty mentor. Fellows will also be affiliated with the Stanford Humanities Center and will have the opportunity to be active in its programs and workshops.

£3,000 award to support research that requires access to the PEF archives and collection and also time spent in residence at the Albright Institute in Jerusalem. 

The Albright is committed to engaging the next generation of researchers through its fellowships. Fellowship terms vary from one to up to 6 months and come with a stipend that is used in part for room/board at the Albright. Applications are open to students and scholars in Near Eastern studies from prehistory through the twenty-first century, including the fields of archaeology, assyriology, anthropology, biblical studies, art history, epigraphy, historical geography, literature, and religion.

Annually, the Canon Foundation in Europe grants up to 15 Fellowships to highly qualified European and Japanese researchers. European Fellows are expected to pursue a period of research in Japan whereas Japanese Fellows are expected to do their research in Europe. 

Canon Foundation Fellowships are for a minimum period of three months up to maximum of one year. 

We support all fields of research. There are no limitations or restrictions. Applicants do not have to be currently enrolled or employed at the time of applying.
