EU Window Chinese Government Scholarship

The Mission of the People’s Republic of China to the European Union is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the EU Window Chinese Government Scholarship Program for the 2026/2027 academic year. This scholarship, established by the Ministry of Education of China, supports students and scholars from EU Member States to study at Chinese universities.

Scholarship Coverage

The program supports:

Undergraduate students
Master’s and PhD students
General and Senior Visiting Scholars

Scholarship benefits include tuition, accommodation, medical insurance, and monthly stipend. Duration depends on program type and any required Chinese language preparation.

Eligible programs are offered by designated Chinese universities in a wide range of disciplines.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

Be citizens of an EU Member State, in good health.
Meet academic background and age requirements:
- Undergraduate: high school diploma, under 25
- Master’s: bachelor’s degree, under 35
- PhD: master’s degree, under 40
- General scholar: high school diploma or above, under 45
- Senior scholar: master’s degree or associate professor or above, under 50
Meet university entry requirements, including language requirements.

HSK proficiency:

Chinese-taught programs generally require HSK 3 or above.
Applicants for Chinese language study are exempt.

New Requirement:

Beginning 2026/2027, undergraduate applicants must take the CSCA academic test before applying. Details: www.csca.cn

Applicants are strongly encouraged to contact preferred universities in advance and upload at least one admission letter / supervisor acceptance during the application.
