Paris × Rome Fellowship
The DFK Paris and the Bibliotheca Hertziana – Max Planck Institute for Art History jointly offer a six-month research fellowship that allows the fellows to spend three months each in Paris and Rome to conduct research in archives and libraries and exchange ideas with resident researchers, exploring transnational art-historical perspectives across France and Italy.
Both pre- and postdoctoral researchers in art history and neighboring disciplines are invited to apply. The Paris × Rome Fellowship includes reimbursement of travel expenses and, for living expenses, a monthly stipend of at least 1,750 euros (plus a monthly contribution of 250 euros for material costs and, if applicable, a child supplement). Fellows are also granted use of the institutes’ resources and are integrated into their research initiatives. Applications, which must include a CV and a project description, may be formulated in English, French or German; however, proficiency in French and Italian are required. It is a condition of the fellowship that the recipient remain primarily in Paris or Rome and in close exchange with the two institutes for the duration of the funding period.
