Research Fellowships at the German Forum for Art History in Paris

Call illustration

The DFK Paris offers flexible three-month fellowships to support research proposals that, due to the relevant body of source material or literature, necessitate study in France. These fellowships are primarily intended for doctoral candidates and postdoctoral researchers in art history and neighboring disciplines. Projects may also relate thematically to the main research foci of the DFK Paris. The fellowship is open to international applicants.

Research fellowships provide a monthly stipend of 1,750 euros (plus a monthly contribution of 250 euros for material costs and, if applicable, a child supplement). The fellowship also includes a workspace, specialized advising, and infrastructural support, as well as use of the institute’s resources. Permanent residents of Paris or the region of Île-de-France are not eligible to apply. Applicants must provide a cover letter, a CV, and a project description including an overview of the relevant source material (approx. 3 pages, supplemented by a detailed work plan and schedule) as well as a letter of recommendation. The application must be submitted in a single PDF file at least three months before the proposed start date of the research visit. The selection committee convenes three times a year.

Application deadlines are January 15, May 15, and September 15. Please send applications to: stipendien@dfk-paris.org.
