Research Centre for the Humanities (RCH)
The Research Centre for the Humanities (RCH) was established in Athens, Greece. It has started to function on January 1, 2015 and its legal status is a Non-Profit Organization.
The main purpose of the Research Centre for the Humanities is the funding of research in the humanities through a process of annual public calls for the submission of research proposals. The proposals are refereed by established scholars from Greece and abroad. Among the goals of the Research Centre for the Humanities are the articulation of an agenda for the multifarious significance of the humanities, the public discussion and further dissemination of research results, the creation of a space for the development of new trends that are being discussed within the international community of the relevant fields.
The Centre aims at bilateral agreements with similar Centres around the world for the exchange of scholars, common research projects and other activities, where the funding of the agreed activities is shared between the two bodies involved in the agreement.
The structure of the Research Centre for the Humanities
Governing Board, which has the legal responsibility of the Centre.
Academic Advisory Board. Its members, along with the members of the Governing Board and the Executive Administrative Board, will meet once a year and discuss possible research directions, suggest co-operation with other Centres, approve reports and the budget etc.
Executive Administrative Board, which will have the responsibility of the day to day operations, ensure that the organization of the activities related to the funded projects have the necessary quality, etc.
