TORCH (The Oxford Research Centre in the Humanities) aims to stimulate and support interdisciplinary research activity. The TORCH International Engagement Fund supports such collaborations explicitly with partners outside the UK. TORCH thus invites applications from researchers in the Humanities seeking funding for international activity.

Please see the October 2025 Spencer news update from Dr. Nasir and Dr. Bricker for information about how we have changed our processes to respond to the large volume of applications we are currently receiving. Starting in 2026, we are moving to a single cycle of Large Grants per year, but as we have communicated to the field, we will fund more proposals than in past years.
STIAS provides and maintains an independent ‘creative space for the mind’ to advance scientific inquiry and engaged scholarship across all disciplines. The Institute is global in its reach and local in its African roots, and values original thinking and innovation in this context. The Fellowship programme comprises projects which are entirely self-generated and proposed by applicants, as well as projects or programmes initiated and led by STIAS typically with select partner organisations.
The aim of the call Mobility Grants for Internationalisation: India is to strengthen Swedish research and higher education by developing and establishing partnerships with Indian universities. Mobility Grants for Internationalisation: India supports projects of high scientific quality which clearly contribute to the activities of participating institutions.
