Collective projects

Semper Ardens Advance grants are five-year grants to support visionary research projects at the highest international level aiming at scientific breakthroughs. Projects venturing into new scientific territory will be prioritised.

WHO?

It is possible to apply as a single applicant (PI) or as a team of maximum four co-PIs. 

In the case of applications as a co-PI team, one of the applicants must act as main responsible for contact with the foundation and administration of the grant, should the application be successful.

Three- to five-year grants for newly appointed tenured associate professors to consolidate an independent research group or research environment.

Expected Outcome

This topic contributes to the implementation of the Mission 'A Soil Deal for Europe'[1], in particular to its specific objective 8 “Increase soil literacy in society across Member States”.

Project results should contribute to all the following outcomes:

Three Categories of Fellowships are offered at the JNIAS.

The Merian Institute for Advanced Studies in Africa (MIASA) offers
Up to two Tandem Residential Fellowships
for 3-6 months each at the University of Ghana
for the Academic Year 2025/2026
