Averroes/Ibn Rochd (in Arabic) is an Andalusian philosopher and jurist (born in Cordoba in 1168 and died in Marrakech in 1198) who undoubtedly produced the most important philosophical work of the Middle Ages. It is in particular his commentaries on Aristotle that are authoritative and that have earned him great notoriety in the Muslim, Jewish and Christian world. His Decisive Speech / Fasl al maqal, is in particular a major work which marks the place of reason in Islam and which opens the way to critical thought.

The Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Evaluation of Public Policies (LIEPP), a research platform at Sciences Po (Paris, France), launches its 6th International scholars in policy evaluation programme. The visiting fellowships funded as part of this programme (for visits in 2027) aim at fostering the incoming mobility of scholars from universities and research institutions outside of France, in order to expand LIEPP’s research activities and develop its international relations.

In the framework of the of the International Research Centre “Innovative Transportation and Production Systems” of the I-SITE CAP 20-25 project (CIR ITPS), a one-year postdoctoral position is proposed for highly motivated candidates interested in rrural mobility and specifically in the adoption of autonomous vehicles in rural areas.

In partnership with Sorbonne University, the Paris Institute for Advanced Study is offering a 10-month chair or two 5-month chairs for high level international researchers in the humanities and social sciences (HSS) during the academic year 2024-2025.

Scientific Areas

The CNRS and the U of T are launching a joint call for proposals between the two institutions to further develop collaborations in areas of mutual strategic importance.

This joint call is intended to fund up to 3 years of a PhD fellowship (CNRS only) and travel starting in March 2024 for U of T awardees and September 2024 for CNRS awardees.

Disruptive Science to meet global challenges

Two to three-year postdoctoral fellowships for research at an international research institution and a research institution in Denmark, Greenland, or the Faroe Islands.

Through these fellowships the Carlsberg Foundation wishes to promote internationalisation of talented young researchers from Denmark, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands by enabling postdoctoral research at one or two leading international research institutions and facilitating their reintegration into the Danish, Greenlandic, or Faroese research environment.

Each year, IAST invites applications for post-doctoral Research Fellowships, which offer candidates an opportunity to devote themselves full-time to their research at the start of their careers. Fellows receive support from our newcomer coordinator, ranging from help with settling in (visa applications, housing search, moving budget), to their integration (French classes, activities to explore Toulouse, and other IAST/TSE community events), as well as an office, computer equipment, and a two-year public-sector contract (fixed-term contract in the State Civil Service).
