International institutions play a key role in addressing these challenges by promoting cross-national research, policy coordination, and evidence-based strategies to foster inclusion and social cohesion. This vacancy is part of the SSH Sector Plan on “Social Inequality and Diversity”.

Associate or Full Professor in Cultural Studies

At Maastricht University, we value cultural studies as an interdisciplinary field that examines how culture shapes and is shaped by power, media, identities, economies, and everyday practices. Cultural studies investigates representation, hegemony, resistance, and the circulation of meanings across local and global contexts. The field matters because cultural production influences political debate, social belonging, and public imagination, affecting whose voices are heard and whose experiences are marginalized.

Postdoctoral Researcher in Open AI research for social sciences and humanities

The Humane AI research priority area of the University of Amsterdam is looking for a new PostDoc to amend our existing team (https://humane-ai.nl/). AI is everywhere. Chatbots, translation tools, shopping assistants, hyper-personalised services - as Large Language Models become widely accessible, they're reshaping how we live, work, play and connect. This rapid shift sparks big questions: Whose norms and values shape this AI-driven society—and who gets left behind?
