Deadline: Normally, the deadline for applications for the Smithsonian Libraries Resident Scholar Programs is January 15 for appointments during the following academic year (September 1 through August 31). Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, however, we currently are not hosting fellows onsite and not accepting applications for the 2023 academic year (September 1, 2022 – August 31, 2023).

MIAS Call for Applications

As a joint research centre between the UAM and Casa de Velázquez, the MIAS was admitted in April 2019 as a full member of the prestigious NetIAS (Network of European Institutes for Advanced Study). Its main objective is to strengthen and internationalize research in the fields of Humanities and Social Sciences, through a policy of invitation to high-level researchers, of all nationalities. Its regulations is therefore based on an open call for applications.
