The Max Planck Institute offers a limited number of scholarships for legal scholars whose primary place of residence is outside of Germany. The scholarships are financed by the Max Planck Society.

The Institute now accepts new scholarships applications for 2024. Please note that, at present, there are no plans for a second application round for 2024.

The Wolf Humanities Center awards five (5) one-year Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowships each academic year to scholars in the humanities who are no more than five years out of their doctorate. Preference will be given to candidates not yet in tenure track positions whose proposals are interdisciplinary and would particularly benefit from and contribute to Penn's intellectual life.

The Käte Hamburger Kolleg/Centre for Global Cooperation Research (KHK/GCR21) invites applications for Research Fellowships with duration of 12 months starting between February and September 2021.

The research program Modernity and Contemporary Re-readings of Authors, Concepts, Problems of Modern Thought (MOSCHO), focuses on the reception of modern philosophy in European culture during the first half of the 20th century, particularly on the Frankfurt School.

It includes the organization of a seminar cycle on “Reason and Modernity” and a conference on “Readings of Modern Philosophy in the 19th Century and the Beginning of the 20th”.

The post-doc fellow:

The funding format "Research in Groups" is open to scholars from all disciplines post-PhD, based in Germany and abroad. They can propose a research project to be conducted with a curated group of (preferably) international colleagues. If their collaborative application is successful, ZiF will host the group on its campus, offering ideal working conditions. There are three different group formats with varying time span and funding options.

The John F. Kennedy Library Foundation, the nonprofit organization that supports the federal John F. Kennedy Presidential Library, offers research fellowships and grants every year to support scholars who need to use the archival holdings of the JFK Library.

Waseda Institute for Advanced Study (WIAS) was established in September 2006 to enable promising and talented researchers to focus on their research activities under fixed-term contracts in a rich research environment. At present, around 30 researchers at WIAS are conducting advanced research on a wide range of themes, with no limitation regarding their fields of study. WIAS is currently recruiting researchers for AY2027, as detailed below.

Who can apply?

University teachers and established academics and scientists who have usually completed a doctoral degree and work at a university or research institute in their home country can apply.
