Labarge Postdoctoral Fellowship in Mobility and Aging

McMaster University has identified aging as a research priority, and is focusing its research strength on addressing the most pressing questions facing the aging population. In 2016, the University made a transformative investment in this area by creating the McMaster Institute for Research on Aging (MIRA), which serves to support and connect researchers and aging research platforms in all six Faculties.

Goethe-University Frankfurt Complexity-Fellowship

As part of the project “Complexity in Science, Culture and Society” the Forschungskolleg Humanwissenschaften / Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities of Goethe-University Frankfurt offers fellowships of three to six months in the period from autumn 2018 to the end of 2019, mainly in the field of theory of science/ philosophy of science/ history of science.

The call for applications is open for academics from the postdoctoral phase onwards. Working languages will be German and English.

Montreal International Centre for Comparative Criminology Postdoctoral Fellowships

The CICC is an inter-university research center affiliated to both the Université de Montréal and the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières. The researchers affiliated to CICC come from several universities, colleges and public and parapublic organizations in Quebec. The CICC’s aim is to unite an interdisciplinary group of experts in the study of crime and the many public, private, and community institutions that are assembled in reaction to crime. The CICC is the only centre in Quebec that is focused on crime, control, and security at a general level.

Jangseogak Archives Short Term Fellowship Grants at the Academy of Korean Studies

The Jangseogak Archives at the Academy of Korean Studies (AKS) is accepting applications for short-term (three to six months) research fellowships for international scholars of Korean studies. The Jangseogak Archives, originally founded 100 years ago as the last royal archive of the Joseon Dynasty (1392 - 1910), is an active Korean studies centers and is home to numerous rare sources of Korea.

Dorothea Schlözer Postdoctoral Program for Female Postdocs

The Dorothea Schlözer postdoctoral programme for women is addressed to female scientists and scholars in their early postdoctoral phase and is intended to contribute to counteracting the attrition of women across all disciplines from postdoctoral research and to promote female scientists and scholars on their way to a leading position in science. It replaced the Dorothea Schlözer scholarship programme in 2017.

MEXT's Leading Initiative for Excellent Young Researchers

In recent years, short-term employment and job insecurity for young researchers have meant that the environment for them is conducive to neither challenging new areas of research nor to creative achievement. This has raised concern that the advance of Japan's scientific, technological and academic research cannot be sustained. In addition, low researcher mobility across industrial, academic and governmental sectors means knowledge is not transferred among researchers, making it difficult to deal with the global and rapid structural transformation of industry.
