The Leibniz Institute for Jewish History and Culture – Simon Dubnow seeks applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship.

The Fellowship will commence effective from 1 April 2018.

The research of the Dubnow Institute (DI) – member of the Leibniz Association – focuses on Jewish history and culture, primarily in East Central and East­ern Europe, extending from the Middle Ages to the present. It represents this focus in study programs at Leipzig University, and presents the results of its research work to the academic and general public.

The purpose of the grant is to give the most prominent junior researchers the opportunity to consolidate their research and broaden their activities as independent researchers. Within the framework of the call, the Swedish Research Council wishes to support researchers who have a scientifically interesting research idea, and who can convert and conduct the research task and thereby move the frontiers of research forward, or fill in existing gaps in knowledge.

The Rubin Museum of Art is a dynamic environment that stimulates learning, promotes understanding, and inspires personal connections to the ideas, cultures, and art of the Himalayas. This programme enables academics from any country overseas to be based at a UK higher education or other research institution of their choice for up to six months and develop collaborative projects with UK colleagues.

Columbia University’s Institute for Israel and Jewish Studies and Fordham University’s Jewish Studies Program announce a post-doctoral fellowship in Jewish Studies for the 2018-2019 academic year. The fellowship will consist of a stipend of $50,000, with an additional subsidy for travel and relocation. Fellows will be affiliated with both institutions. 

This fellowship is open to scholars in all fields of Jewish Studies; preference will be given to scholars who strengthen and/or complement the intellectual interests of the faculty at both institutions.
