The Karl-Kaser-Visiting-Fellowship is aimed at early career researchers from the fields of history, social and cultural anthropology, ethnology, cultural studies and sociology. It aims at facilitating the transitory phase between the time following a PhD and the next academic career step. Applicants must have completed their PhD at a university in Southeastern Europe. The Junior Visiting Fellow will spend a semester in Graz to conduct and present research and collaborate with other researchers. The decision will be announced by mid January 2025.

The aim of the programme is to enhance the quality of Swedish research and higher education by giving researchers who have recently obtained their PhDs the opportunity to pursue a postdoctoral research project at an institution abroad. Participating postdocs are thus offered the chance to experience new academic environments, become more independent and extend their international networks.

There are two versions of the programme:

As of fall 2025, St.Gallen Collegium will be home to researchers from different disciplines and generations, ranging from post-doctoral researchers to emeriti and independent scholars. Fellows will pursue their own research and a joint project focusing on a theme related to one of the Grand Challenges of our time.

For the second Collegium year 2026/2027 (September 1, 2026-May 31, 2027), St.Gallen Collegium will award fellowships to scholars whose work addresses the theme: Digital Sovereignty

Job description

Two positions for Postdoctoral Research Fellows (SKO 1352) in Conservation Science are available at the Department of Archaeology, Conservation and History (IAKH), University of Oslo.

Both positions are for a fixed term of four years within the scope of the project POLYCHROME ‒ “The Survival of Damaged Medieval Polychromed Heritage in the Nordics”. The position is associated with HumAIn: A humanities hub for the reimagination of AI project (uio.no), funded by the Faculty of Humanities, University of Oslo. The candidate is expected to develop a research project closely connected to the main project.
