German Chancellor Fellowship

NOTE: Due to serious budgetary cuts there will be no further calls for the German Chancellor Fellowship Programme.
• The fellowships granted to the current cohort of Federal Chancellor Fellows 2023/24 will continue unchanged. All events and networking activities will take place as planned.
• In Spring 2024, 25 Federal Chancellor Fellows were selected for the 2024/25 cohort. All events and networking activities will take place as planned.

TORCH International Fellowships

Applications for the TORCH International Fellowship scheme are now open

TORCH invites University of Oxford academics to apply for small grants to support visiting International Fellows to come to Oxford during Trinity Term, 2023.

Bursaries of up to £5,000 are available for Fellows from European institutions to facilitate their visit to Oxford. Discretionary funding of up to £6,500 is available for Fellows based at institutions outside of Europe.

TORCH International Research Grant

This scheme supports researchers in the Humanities who require visits to international institutions (e.g., libraries, archives, research centres) to further current and/or new research projects. Applicants must show evidence that they will work with a specific institution and collaborator(s) in a non-UK setting.

Researchers can apply for up to £2,000 for travel, accommodation, and related costs (more below). All funds must be spent, and activities carried out, by 1 July, 2023.

Biruté Ciplijauskaité Postdoctoral Fellowships in Peninsular Spanish Literature and Culture at Wisconsin-Madison University

The Institute for Research in the Humanities at the University of Wisconsin–Madison is pleased to announce that it will offer one Biruté Ciplijauskaité Fellowship for the 2026-2027 academic year, to be awarded to a scholar from outside the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Thanks to a generous bequest by the late Biruté Ciplijauskaité, John Bascom Professor Emerita in the Department of Spanish & Portuguese and a Senior Fellow of IRH, the fellowship is available to a scholar with a Ph.D. (at any stage of career), working in Spanish literary and cultural studies of the Iberian Peninsula.
