Annual Conference Fellowships

SAH 2022 Annual International Conference

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
April 27–May 1

Each year, SAH awards approximately $25,000 in Annual Conference Fellowships to graduate students, international speakers, and independent scholars. Each fellowship award is up to $1,000 and is a reimbursable stipend to be used to offset costs of conference registration and travel, lodging, and meals directly related to the conference.

Edilia and François-Auguste de Montêquin Fellowship

This award provides support for travel related to research on Spanish, Portuguese, or Ibero-American architecture.

The Awards

The awards consist of a $2,000 fellowship for an advanced graduate student and a $6,000 fellowship for a senior or emerging scholar. The awardees will be notified in December and will be recognized onscreen at the SAH Annual International Conference in April and in the SAH Newsletter.

Criteria for Application

H. Allen Brooks Travelling Fellowship

The Society of Architectural Historians’ prestigious H. Allen Brooks Travelling Fellowship will be offered for 2025 and will allow a recent graduate or emerging scholar to study by travel for a continuous period of three, six or twelve months. In response to the uncertainty of travel and to broaden the accessibility to applicants who may not be able to take a full year of travel, for whatever reason, the Society is amending the proposal requirements to include partial-year itineraries.
