Postdoctoral Fellowships "Resilience and natural disasters"

The French Red Cross Foundation, a research organisation dedicated to humanitarian and social action, carries the will of the French Red Cross to commit to an effort of analysis with regard to suffering and ways of addressing it, anticipating the needs of vulnerable populations in France and in developing countries, and supporting new models for operations, training and capacity reinforcement. As such, it has decided to launch a call for applications for a postdoctoral fellowship on the topic of the prevention and management of natural risks and disasters.

AIAS Science Diplomacy fellowship

Up to four Science Diplomacy theme-based fellowships available
Fellowship period: September 2026 until June 2027

Interdisciplinary research collaboration and innovative ideas are prerequisites for tackling joint societal challenges. The complexity of global challenges, such as climate changes, pandemics and technological advancements, demands an integrated approach to international collaborations, where science plays an important role.

Hong Yung Lee Book Award in Korean Studies

The Center for Korean Studies (CKS) at UC Berkeley is pleased to announce the establishment of the Hong Yung Lee Book Award in Korean Studies. Inaugurated in 2022 to honor the late Professor Hong Yung Lee, the Award acknowledges books (and authors) that make significant contributions to the field of Korean Studies. The competition is flexible in regards to academic discipline, and encompasses not only the conventional areas of Korean Studies (i.e., humanities, arts and media, and social sciences) but also Korean Studies texts that engage the Korean diaspora and/or comparative approaches.

Virtual Ukraine Institute for Advanced Study Fellowships

In close cooperation with partner institutes from Ukraine, Europe and the United States, the Wissenschaftskolleg has launched an initiative to support Ukrainian scholars in their effort to found an Institute for Advanced Study in Kyiv. Full-scale institutional activities in Ukraine will only be possible once the war is over, but in September 2023 the Virtual Ukraine Institute for Advanced Study (VUIAS) has taken up its activities and hosted a first interdisciplinary cohort of fellows.

In geveb/Fortunoff Archive Fellowship

In 2023, the For­tunoff Video Archive for Holo­caust Tes­ti­monies joined forces with In geveb to pro­vide a series of grants to schol­ars and artists to work with Yid­dish mate­ri­als in the archive’s col­lec­tion. The first cohort of fel­lows result­ed in five suc­cess­ful projects rang­ing from tra­di­tion­al research and the cre­ation of ped­a­gog­i­cal mate­ri­als for using Yid­dish tes­ti­mo­ny in the class­room to musi­cal per­for­mance and artis­tic works.
