Egyptian Associate Researcher at the IFAO

The IFAO offers 1 position as Egyptian Associate Researcher.
The researcher is appointed for a term of one year from 1st September 2026 to 31 August 2027 renewable twice.
The deadline for applying is 31 March 2026.
The amount of the grant is 11000 EGP per month.
A committee will proceed to a first selection; the shortlisted candidates will be interviewed in November at the IFAO. During the interview, the candidates will present their research project, in English or in French.

Summer Institute for the Study of East Central and Southeastern Europe

The Summer Institute for the Study of East Central and Southeastern Europe (SISECSE) is a two-week residential workshop, that provides scholars of Eastern Europe time and space to dedicate to their own research and writing in a collaborative and interdisciplinary setting. ACLS in partnership with the Centre for Advanced Study Sofia (CAS) will convene leading scholars from Eastern Europe and North America for a two-week residency in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria from June 5, 2025 to June 20, 2025.

Research grants in "Islamology"

The Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEAE) and the UMIFRE network wish to support young researchers in Islamology by offering three-month field grants to Master’s students and six months field grants to the doctoral students/young doctors and wishing to pursue research in broadest sense in different regions of the world. Research on South Asia is particularly encouraged. Fellows will be hosted by member centers of the UMIFRE network and other research institutes partnering the program (see list of institutes concerned*).

Open to master's student, doctoral students, postdoctoral and researchers working in humanities and social sciences on a country under IFRA-Nigeria's geographical mandate (Nigeria, Cameroon, Benin, Togo, Ghana, Liberia, Gambia, Niger, Chad and Burkina Faso). We accept applications in French or English.

The Colonial Society of Massachusetts Announces the
2025 Walter Muir Whitehill Prize in Early American History

This prize of $2500, established in memory of Walter Muir Whitehill, for many years Editor of Publications for the Colonial Society and the moving force behind the organization, will be awarded to an outstanding and previously unpublished scholarly essay on American history before 1825, with preference given to New England subjects.
