Leverhulme International Professorships

To help maintain the UK’s international standing as a desirable research destination that is open to talented individuals from all countries

Applications are encouraged from universities seeking to recruit excellent research leaders of any nationality, currently working outside the UK, in order to fill strategically important positions in this country. The Trust has allocated at least £100 million over five years to fund these grants. Grants are for a period of five years.

Each UK university is permitted to make only one bid per round. 

SIGERIST PRIZE

The Swiss Society for the History of Medicine and Science invites applications for the Henry-E.-Sigerist-Prize for the promotion of early career scholars in the history of medicine and science.

Deadline for application: 31 May 2026

The prize was founded in 1967 by Mr. and Mrs. Guggenheim-Schnurr from Basel in order to award outstanding young scholars in the field of history of medicine and science. It is conferred by a jury on behalf of the Swiss Society of the History of Medicine and Sciences.

W.E. Upjohn Institute for Employment Research Dissertation Award

The W.E. Upjohn Institute for Employment Research is now accepting submissions for its annual award recognizing the best PhD dissertation on employment-related issues. The Institute has sponsored this award since 1995.

A first prize of $2,500 is being offered. Up to two honorable mention awards of $1,000 may also be given.

Eligible persons for the 2026 prize are those whose dissertation was accepted during the 24-month period from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2026. The deadline for submission is July 20, 2026.
