Postdoctoral Fellowships on British Art and Architecture

Postdoctoral Fellowships are offered annually for the purpose of supporting continuing postdoctoral research in the field of British art and architectural history or supporting the start of a new research project that has arisen out of a successfully submitted doctoral dissertation.

They are designed for applicants who have had their doctoral theses successfully examined within the five years prior to January 2025.

The Fellowship is an award of £15,000 to cover a period of six months.

Early Career Research Awards (ECRA) on Employement Issues

The Upjohn Institute's Early Career Research Awards are intended to provide resources for junior researchers (within six years of earning a PhD) to carry out policy-related research on employment issues. The Institute encourages research proposals on all issues related to employment and public workforce policy. Research of interest may examine how policies affect overall labor market outcomes or the labor market outcomes of different groups. Junior researchers in economics, sociology, public policy, political science, and related fields may apply.

APF Alexander Gralnick Research Investigator Prize on Serious Mental Illness

APF is no longer offering this program.

The $20,000 grant supports “exceptional individuals working in the area of serious mental illness,” including but not limited to schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and paranoia (delusional disorder).

The American Psychological Foundation provides financial support for innovative research and programs that enhance the power of psychology to elevate the human condition and advance human potential both now and in generations to come.

Leverhulme Early Career Fellowships

For early career researchers, with a research record but who have not yet held a full-time permanent academic post, to undertake a significant piece of publishable work

Fellowships can be held at UK universities with research degree awarding powers. 

The Fellowships are intended to assist those at a relatively early stage of their academic careers, and it is hoped that the appointment would lead to a more permanent position for the individual, either within the same or another university.

College for Life Sciences Postdoctoral Fellowship

The College for Life Sciences offers Short-term Fellowships for early-career post-doctoral scientists. You will live and work on the campus of the Wissenschaftskolleg and attend the weekly colloquia held by leading scholars in various fields, which can help you to broaden your horizon and think about your own research from a new perspective. The meals will provide time to discuss your research with scientists from all kinds of backgrounds and provide you with new and unexpected views and ideas.

F.J. McGuigan Early Career Investigator Research Grant on Understanding the Human Mind

The F.J. McGuigan Early Career Investigator Research Grant is given biennially to recognize and support the efforts of an early career psychological scientist who is pursuing research that aims to address any aspect of mental function (e.g., cognition, affect, motivation) and seeks to understand the mind from both a behavioral and neural perspective.
