Brooke Hindle Postdoctoral Fellowship in the History of Technology

 

The Brooke Hindle Postdoctoral Fellowship in the History of Technology honors the contribution of Brooke Hindle to the work of the Society for the History of Technology. The Fellowship, made possible thanks to the great generosity of his family, is for $10,000 and may be used, as further detailed below, for any purpose connected with research or writing in the history of technology for a period of not less than three months during the calendar year following the award.

Gerald Westheimer Career Development Fellowship on the Jewish Experience in German-speaking Lands

The Leo Baeck Institute is offering a Career Development Award as a personal grant to a scholar or professional in an early career stage, e.g. before gaining tenure in an academic institution or its equivalent, whose proposed work would deal with topics within the Leo Baeck Institute’s mission, namely historical or cultural issues of the Jewish experience in German-speaking lands.

The award of up to $20,000 will cover the period July 1 – June 30 of the following year and, at the discretion of the reviewing board, may be renewed for a second year.

Research Scholarships: "Portugal and the Far East"

The Oriente Foundation awards scholarships to researchers with advanced training in projects involving relations between Portugal and the East, in the areas of social sciences and humanities, with priority to the study of the Museu do Oriente collections.

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must possess at least a Master’s degree and present a research project that fits in with the goals of Fundação Oriente’s scholarship programmes.

DURATION

Scholarships have a duration of 12 months. This period may exceptionally be extended up to a maximum of 36 months.

ISRF Political Economy Research Fellowship Competition (PERF4)

The Independent Social Research Foundation wishes to support independent-minded researchers working in Political Economy, which the ISRF here extends to include the social scientific study of economies across the whole range of the social sciences.

The work would be conceptually innovative, interdisciplinary, and unlikely to be funded by existing funding bodies.

The funding activities concentrate basically on German and foreign academics in the fields of historical humanities. Candidates can apply regardless of their nationality and place of work.

The most important criteria when deciding if a grant should be awarded are the academic significance and the quality of the research project. Also precise planning of costs and schedule of the proposed project are absolutely essential.
