Austrian Marshall Plan Foundation Fellowships in Central European Studies
The Austrian Marshall Plan Foundation Fellowships in Central European Studies enable outstanding scholars to conduct research on important issues related to Central Europe at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in Washington, D.C.
During the academic year 2017-2018 the Center intends to award the following fellowships:
- 1 Academic Year Fellowship for a nine (9) month period from either September 2016 to May 2017 or October 2016-June 2017;
- 2-3 Short Term Fellowships for an in-residence period of between 1 and 3 months.
Fellows are closely integrated into the research, training, and outreach activities of the Center for Transatlantic Relations (CTR) at SAIS, and will participate in CTR events and meetings. Each Fellow is expected to complete a research paper during the period of residence according to the terms of the assignment entered into with the Foundation.
Each year the Center and the Austrian Marshall Plan Foundation identify several themes of particular interest. For 2017-18, the Center is particularly interested in receiving applications that deal with U.S. relations with central and eastern Europe and/or issues related to conflict resolution and transformation.
