IE University Teaching Fellowship in the Humanities
The IE Humanities Centre at IE University invites applications for one year, renewable International Teaching Fellowships in the Humanities. The International Teaching Fellowship is designed to assist recent doctoral students in their professional development by building a robust teaching portfolio, while at the same time affording them time and resources to pursue their own research.
Fellows will join the IE Humanities Centre as a faculty lecturer to teach in the Humanities program of IE University at our campuses located in central Madrid and Segovia.
The fellowship is open to candidates of all nationalities in any area of the Humanities who expect to receive their PhD by the time of the appointment or who have already received their PhD within two years of the application deadline. The term of the appointment is from September 1, 2017 - July 31, 2018 and may be renewed for a second year. The fellowship stipend is €40.000.
To be considered for the fellowship, please submit a preliminary application consisting of:
- A cover letter stating the applicant’s academic field, the status and brief description of their dissertation (including expected completion date if applicable), near-term research plans, and teaching interests and pedagogical approach. Cover letters should not exceed 2500 words.
- A current CV
- A short sample or actual syllabus of a course they have designed.
- One letter of recommendation from their Thesis Director or a scholar familiar with their research and, where possible, teaching abilities.
