Jim Joseph Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Education and Religion
The EdJS is fortunate to support a two-year post-doctoral fellowship for recent PhD's committed to conducting research at the intersection of education and religion. We have a scholarly interest in Jewish education and we understand that there is a great deal to be gained by looking across religious and educational communities, traditions, and phenomena.
We are currently accepting applications for a fellowship to begin in the fall of 2024. You can learn more about our past fellows, alumni, and current students by clicking here.
The EdJS is a unique hub for studies at the intersection of religion and education, and we invite applications from people from any disciplinary background that brings them to ask questions about how people learn to develop, articulate, or practice religious commitments. We are looking for candidates whose area of research and scholarly interest will most enrich our understanding of the relationship between education and religion, broadly considered, and whose areas of scholarship can be supported by Stanford faculty across the university.
The Fellowship is a full-time position and comes with health benefits. The Fellow will be expected to be in residence at Stanford, and to divide their time between working on research projects coordinated through the EdJS and developing their own research projects. We may explore opportunities to teach while at Stanford. The Fellow may not undertake any other sustained teaching or employment for the duration of their post-doctoral appointment.
