Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Arts of Africa and/or the African Diaspora

The Department of Art History and Archaeology at the University of Missouri invites applications for a two-year Postdoctoral Fellowship in the arts of Africa and/or the African Diaspora to begin in the fall of 2016. Geographical, chronological, and specialization areas open; a secondary specialty in material culture, women and gender studies, or religious studies is welcome. The teaching load is two three-credit courses per semester, with primary teaching responsibilities including introductory-level surveys and upper-level courses in areas of expertise.

Candidates must have the Ph.D. in hand by the start of the appointment, with preference given to those who received their degree since January 2012. The salary will be $30,000/year plus full benefits, as well as a travel stipend.
