University of Erfurt Postdoctoral Scholarships
The University of Erfurt is a reform university with a strong profile in the humanties and social sciences. Young scholars in Erfurt profit from innovative mentoring schemes and excellent research infrastructures.
The University of Erfurt currently invites young scholars to apply for fully-funded scholarships for postdoctoral researchers. The scholarships will start on 1 October 2016.
Postdoctoral scholarships enable excellent young scholars to develop their own research projects and, if possible, to successfully apply for third party funding. Successful applicants are expected to develop their research projects in cooperation with scholars of the University of Erfurt.
Scholarships will be awarded for 12 to 24 months and will pay 1.600 EUR per month with an extra family-allowance and an allowance for research costs. Scholarship recipients will also have - subject to capacity - access to a modern working space at the University of Erfurt. Individual counseling for the development of your third party funding application is also included in the scholarship package.
Application Requirements
- An excellent PhD-thesis which should not have been completed more than 2 years ago (oral defense, childcare will be credited). The dissertation must be submitted until 29 May 2016. A proof of successfully passing the oral defense must be sent to us at the latest on the day of your interview.
- An excellent research project with which the applicant ideally intends to apply for third party funding
- The integration of the research project at the University of Erfurt must be verified by the statement (Bereitschaftserklärung) of a professor at the University of Erfurt. With this letter, the professor declares his willingness to be your permanent academical contact person at the University of Erfurt and confirms that your research project will match with the strong reseach fields of the University of Erfurt.
