Churchill College Cambridge

Receiving its Royal Charter in 1960, Churchill College, is the national and Commonwealth memorial to Sir Winston Churchill. It is the embodiment of his vision of how higher education can benefit society in the modern age.

Like the thirty other colleges in Cambridge University, we are committed to outstanding academic achievement; more than twenty of our members have won the Nobel Prize.

Our foundation specifies a focus in mathematics, science and technology, with 70% of our students studying subjects in these fields. We also have many students in the arts and humanities and academic teaching and performance is outstanding across the board. Open, friendly, progressive and outward-looking, Churchill strives to build bridges from academe to business and the professions. It pioneered the entry of women to all-male colleges. It seeks and welcomes able students who might not otherwise aspire to come to Cambridge. It draws a rich variety of scholars from abroad, through Overseas Fellowships and schemes such as the Winston Churchill Scholarships. It engages with politicians, political commentators, historians and the media through the work of the Churchill Archives Centre; and it collaborates with the business world through its conference operation and the Møller Centre.
