In 1979, the Matsumae International Foundation was established by Dr. Shigeyoshi MATSUMAE's call.
In 1980, MIF has started Research Fellowship Program for foreign researchers.
As of December 2015, MIF has invited 746 foreign researchers from 114 countries to Japan.
