The Center's Master of Arts in Arab Studies (MAAS) program emphasizes a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to the Arab world and rigorous Arabic language training. The academic program of CCAS draws on the talents and expertise of faculty who design innovative courses and engage in ground-breaking research on the politics, socio-economics, cultures, and history of the region. Georgetown offers more than 100 Arab world-related courses each year through CCAS, and the departments of Arabic and Islamic Studies, history, government, business, and law, among others.
Since its founding in 1975, CCAS has prepared new generations of diplomats, business leaders, scholars, teachers, and policymakers capable of critical thought, constructive dialogue, and creative engagement with the Arab world. The Center enriches the academic experience with extensive programs including lectures, seminars, conferences, and educational outreach workshops, as well as a vibrant publications program.
