FUNDEP/IEAT Chairs Program
The Program has the objective of fostering collaborative work with researchers and research groups from abroad, as well as the advancement of transdisciplinary studies at UFMG. The Program is designed to bring renowned scholars developing advanced research that has the interest in developing activities at UFMG between August 2020 and July 2021. Two types of chair proposals are available:
Professors can indicate from October 22, 2019 to Abril 3, 2022 candidates to work at UFMG as research chairman of the FUNDEP/IEAT Chairs Program.
The chairs will be assigned to the three major areas of knowledge: Humanities and Arts; Life Sciences (including Health) and Natural Sciences (including Technology).
Visiting Chairs, destined to visits of researchers of recognized seniority, with a duration of 7 (seven) to 19 (nineteen) days and a compensation for services rendered of R$ 1.000 (one thousand reais) per day, limited to 10 daily. The activities should involve conferences, lectures and work meetings.
Resident Chairs, destined to researchers with international recognition in their line of work to develop collaborative projects with IEAT’s Resident Professors or UFMG’s consolidated groups of research. It has a duration of 20 (twelve) to 60 (sixty) days and a compensation for services rendered of R$850,00 (eight hundred and fifty reais) per day, limited to 35 daily.
Requirements for the Chair holder

Proven seniority, revealed in their academic practice due to the maturity of their work and their leadership in groups of studies and research;

Notorious recognition in their area of activity and related areas;

Field work with transdisciplinary potential, showing that his/her presence at UFMG will contribute to disseminate the transdisciplinary culture as well as to promote interactions between different research groups or areas of knowledge;

To present a project with articulation planned with different research groups, inside or outside UFMG.
IEAT also provides travel expenses and operational support for the chair.
