WZB Two Postdoctoral Research Fellows
For its Institutions and Political Inequality department, the Berlin Social Science Center (WZB) is looking for up to: Two Postdoctoral Research Fellows (f/m/x) for a full-time appointment (39 hours per week) of up to three years starting possibly from 1 September 2023.
The WZB Berlin Social Science Center is a publicly financed research institution that conducts leading edge theory-based and problem-oriented social science research (http://www.wzb.eu/en). WZB researchers come from across the globe and work across social science disciplines including sociology, political science, economics, law, and psychology. A member of the Leibniz Association, WZB’s research is directed at the science community, policy makers, the media and the general public.
The position will be attached to the “Institutions and Political Inequality” research unit (Director: Professor Macartan Humphreys). The research department uses observational and experimental methods to study major problems related to the political economy of social and political inequality with a focus on the political economy of international development.
Job description
Your tasks and duties
- The research fellow will design and implement original research projects and publish in at least one of the unit’s core thematic research areas, including political inequality, intergroup conflict, international development, and knowledge accumulation in the social sciences.
Your qualifications profile
- Applicants must have completed a Ph.D. in political science, economics, statistics, or a related social science discipline by the appointment’s start-date and should have a vibrant and innovative research agenda related to one of the department’s core thematic research areas
- Excellent English writing and communication skills are required (English is the working language of the unit)
