Camargo & EHESS Residency Grant

For the fifth year running, the École des hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESS) and the Camargo Foundation have come together to offer two residency grants at the Camargo Foundation for an artist (who must reside abroad) and a scholar or PhD student in the social sciences. The aim of this program is to stimulate relations and exchanges between scholars and artists to develop projects at the interface between the social sciences and all areas of the arts, with the aim of producing a joint work. It participates in this reflection on the mutual enrichment resulting from the dialogue between creation and research, in the same way as the CRESS - Création recherche en sciences sociales - program.

In presenting their proposals, candidates must to demonstrate, on the basis of their own research or career interest in interdisciplinary cross-fertilization and exchange between and exchanges between the social sciences and the arts.

Eligibility 

  • The researcher must be a PhD student enrolled in a thesis at EHESS, or a tenured member of an EHESS research unit.  To be eligible, he/she must be attached to EHESS at the time of application and during the residency.Researchers who do not meet these criteria are not eligible, and their applications will not be considered.
  • The artist (of any nationality) must be the principal conceiver of a new work or project. To be eligible, the artist must reside abroad.
