USP Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Arts, Language, Communication or Art Anthropology

The research proposition to be carried out on the African continent should turn to the curatorial process in the arts within the axes and periods of this Thematic Project which is funded by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) and hosted by the University of São Paulo's School of Arts, Sciences and Humanities (EACH-USP) in Brazil, comprising researchers from several institutions.
It is a necessary requirement to have fluency in French, English and Portuguese, in addition to field research experience within the scope of a doctorate in African studies in arts, literature, communication, history/anthropology/sociology or interdisciplinary.
The fellow will be based at the Federal University of the ABC (UFABC) in São Bernardo do Campo, Greater São Paulo, Brazil, under supervision of Professor Paulo Sérgio da Costa Neves.

- Proof of fluency in French, English and Portuguese (for applications from people not from Portuguese-speaking countries), through certificates, professional experience, proof of living in the space or academic statements.
- Proof of field research experience in Africa, through self-declaration and inclusion in the Lattes curriculum, preferably for more than one month.
- CV summary (FAPESP model);
- Curriculum lattes;
- Letter of interest;
- Research project (no more than 7 pages, accompanied by a supplementary bibliography sheet), specifying the topics to be studied;
- Copy of approved doctoral degree (foreign certificates do not need to be translated).
This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationality. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 9,047.40 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent on items directly related to the research activity.
