CIMA FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM
The Center for Italian Modern Art awards a number of Fellowships each year to support the study of Italian modern and contemporary art by scholars at the master’s, doctoral, and post-doctoral level. Citizens of all nationalities are eligible to apply. The intention of the program is to bring together emerging scholars from diverse academic backgrounds in an interactive and collaborative environment at CIMA’s New York location. While fellows may pursue their own research and study, they will also work on a “study topic” related to CIMA’s installations, lead guided visits of the exhibition, and participate in CIMA’s programming and other activities.
To facilitate these fellowships, CIMA collaborates with The Graduate Center, City University of New York and the Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa, Italy. Professors from each institution sit on the Selection Committee that choses the fellows. Individuals awarded CIMA fellowships are welcomed into the community of scholars at these universities, afforded library and other privileges, and are able to present a paper or colloquium on their research.
