Flemish Academic Centre for Science and the Arts (VLAC)

VLAC (VLaams ACademisch Centrum) is as the Flemish Academic Centre for Science and the Arts an IAS (Institute for Advanced Study) organized by the KVAB (Koninklijke Vlaamse Academie van België), the Royal Flemish Academy. It is member of NetIAS, the European network of IAS centres.

VLAC was initiated by the Academy (at request of the Flemish government) in 1999 and first fellows arrived in 2000. Each year, the Academy awards a limited number of fellowships to foreign authors and researchers for collaborative residential projects with Flemish colleagues.
