AIAS-AUFF Fellowship
Aarhus Institute of Advanced Studies (AIAS) is pleased to announce up to 10 AIAS-AUFF Fellowships open for application. The AIAS-AUFF Fellowships start on 1 September 2025, and are available for curiosity-driven, talented researchers from all over the world and within all research disciplines. Fellowships last for 23 months for junior researchers with 2 to10 years of experience after completion of their PhD, and 11 months for senior researchers with 11+ years of experience after completion of their PhD.

With a location within the unique campus of Aarhus University, AIAS functions as an interdisciplinary platform that connects researchers across Aarhus University and international scholars. AIAS has fellows who work in thematic groups or in individual fellowships, and hosts events and activities, which fellows are welcome to join and contribute to.
Who can apply for an AIAS-AUFF Fellowship
The call is open to curiosity-driven researchers and welcomes applications from researchers: • from all research disciplines of any nationality
• who comply with a mobility demand as applicants must not have resided or carried out their main work activity in Denmark for more than 12 months in the two years immediately prior to the deadline of the call.
Junior fellowships last for 23 months and are open for researchers with:
• a career experience of 2-10 years after completion of their PhD.
Senior fellowships last for 11 months and are open for researchers with:
• a career experience of 11+ years after completion of their PhD.

The fellowship includes
Fellowships are fully financed, and fellows are offered a salary based on seniority, with employment conditions and wages regulated through the Danish collective union agreements. The fellowship covers travel costs to Aarhus and offers relocation assistance. Fellows will have office space at AIAS and can participate in aca demic training activities, conferences and workshops at AIAS. Fellows will also be affiliated with the relevant research environments at Aarhus University.

Timeline of the application process
• Opening of call: August 2024
• Deadline for applications: 5 November 2024 at 12.00 (noon) CET.
• Evaluation and selection period: November-February 2025.
• Applicants will receive answers: March 2025.
• Fellowships begin: 1 September 2025.
Formalities
• Regarding the recruitment process, AIAS refers to the Danish Ministerial Order on the appointment of academic staff at universities under the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science. • Appointment and salary are subject to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC).
