Egyptian Associate Researcher at the IFAO

The IFAO offers 1 position as Egyptian Associate Researchers.
The researcher is appointed for a term of one year from 1st January to 31 December 2026, renewable twice, i.e. until 31st December 2028.
The deadline for applying is 15 November, 2025.
The amount of the grant is 10000 EGP per month.
A committee will proceed to a first selection; the shortlisted candidates will be interviewed in November at the IFAO. During the interview, the candidates will present their research project, in English or in French.
Applicants must be Egyptian, less than 60 years old, and hold a position as lecturer, assistant professor or professor in an Egyptian university, or as researcher in an Egyptian research centre. They must have an experience in post-doctoral research, with publications in scientific journals.
The scientific quality of the research project, as well as of the interview, will be decisive in the final selection. The topic of the research project must deal either with the history of Egypt, from Prehistory to the 20th century, or with the Near East from the 7th to the 20th century.

يقوم المعهد الفرنسي للآثار باختيار 1 باحث مصري مشارك لمدة عام واحد (من 1 يناير الى 31 ديسمبر 2026 وقابلة للتجديد مرتين أى حتى 31 ديسمبر 2028)
يحصل الباحث المشارك علي مكافأة شهرية قدرها 10000 جنيه مصري ما عدا شهر اغسطس
وتقوم اللجنة بالتوصل الى اختيار أولي للمرشحين و تلتقى بالمرشحين الذين تم اختيارهم بصفة أولية فى نوفمبر بمقر المعهد حيث يقوم المرشح بعرض مشروعه باللغة الفرنسية أو الإنجليزية
وعلى المرشح ان يكون مصرى الجنسية , على الا يتعدى سنه 60 عام, ويكون مدرسًا او استاذًا مساعدا او استاذًا بالجامعات المصرية أو باحثً بمركز بحث مصرى .و يجب أن تكون لديه خبرة فى أبحاث ما بعد الدكتوراه و ان يكون قد نشر ابحاث بمجلات علمية
القيمة العلمية للمشروع و للمقابلة ستساهم بشكل قطعى فى الاختيار النهائى. و يجب ان تركز رسالة الدكتوراه على تاريخ مصر فى اى فترة من عصر ما قبل التاريخ إلى القرن العشرين ، أو عن الشرق الادنى من القرن السابع إلى القرن العشرين

Procédure

Applications must include the following elements:

1. A presentation of the research project, written in English or in French, in 6 to 12 pages; the presentation must be accompanied by a bibliography of 1 to 2 pages, listing the main primary as well as secondary sources for the research project;
2. A copy of the PhD attestation;
3. A summary of the PhD dissertation, written in the language of the thesis (with a translation in English or French if the dissertation was written in Arabic);
4. A resumé (CV) in English or French;
5. A certificate of employment by the university, the research centre or the Ministry of Antiquities;
6. Recommendation letters from 2 Egyptian or foreign scholars, written in English or French.

الأوراق المطلوبة تقديمها للمعهد

1. ملخص عن مشروع البحث (من 6 الى 12 صفحة ) باللغة الفرنسية او الانجليزية مصحوبا بمراجع من صفحة الى صفحتين يشمل المصادر الاولية و الثانوية لمشروع البحث

2. صورة من شهادة الدكتوراه

3. ملخص لرسالة الدكتوراه مكتوب بلغة الرسالة (مع ترجمة باللغة الفرنسية أو الانجليزية اذا كانت الرسالة باللغة العربية)

4. سيرة ذاتية باللغة الفرنسية أو الانجليزية

5. شهادة تثبت العمل بجامعة مصرية او بمركز ابحاث أو بوزارة الآثار

6. خطابا توصية من استاذين مصريين او اجنبيين مكتوبان بالانجليزية او الفرنسية
