Jangseogak Archives Short Term Fellowship Grants at the Academy of Korean Studies

The Jangseogak Archives at the Academy of Korean Studies (AKS) is accepting applications for short-term (three to six months) research fellowships for international scholars of Korean studies. The Jangseogak Archives, originally founded 100 years ago as the last royal archive of the Joseon Dynasty (1392 - 1910), is an active Korean studies centers and is home to numerous rare sources of Korea.

Preference will be given to applicants who can work on the various Korea, Chinese and Japanese sources stored in the Jangseogak Archives. The fellowship period will be between July 1st to December 31st, 2018.

The successful candidates will conduct their own research and present their work at a public Jangseogak talk. The fellowship requires full-time commitment, and fellows must reside at the AKS for at least fifteen days each month. Jangseogak will reimburse a round-trip economy airfare ticket (excluding scholars who are currently in Korea), a stipend of 2,500,000 won per month, and office space. Fellows may also apply for accommodation at the AKS Guest House, and in this case, a 50% discount will be available for applicants staying at the Guest House.
