The laboratory's various components comprise 162 permanent staff and as many doctoral students.

The UMR analyzes the dynamics of change between environment, city and society. These are studied on an interdisciplinary basis in the light of interactions between actors and agents of change, integrating entities of various natures, human or otherwise, that can drive, prohibit or steer change. The UMR EVS is thus internationally recognized for its work on the environmental and social transition to which societies and their territories must commit.

The position is part of the BioEEnViS research federation, which structures the Lyon-Saint Etienne site around the water, city and biodiversity clusters, as well as the H2O'Lyon university research school, which brings together the community working specifically on water and hydrosystems. In addition to its main attachment, this position also has links with other research units closely involved in the “Large scales” project: Riverly unit of INRAE-Lyon, PRABI laboratory (Univ. Lyon1).

The work will be carried out in close collaboration with the “large scales” theme steering team, which includes B. Belletti (CNRS, EVS), T. Datry (INRAE, Riverly), O. Navratil (Lyon 2, EVS), V. Navratil (Lyon 1, PRABI), as well as other members of the community involved in the theme.

Constraints and risks

Travel within the different teams of the Lyon/Saint-Étienne site is to be expected.
