This annual fellowship is in honour of the late Professor Edgar Peltenburg and provides a stipend to conduct research on Cypriot prehistory (from the first visitors to the transition to the Iron Age). Applicants of all nationalities are encouraged to apply provided they have submitted their dissertation prior to the application deadline and been awarded a PhD degree by the start of the fellowship. Although the fellowship is open to scholars of all ages, priority will be given to early career candidates who have received their PhDs within five years of the start of the fellowship.

Presidential Scholars in Society and Neuroscience (PSSN) is an innovative program pioneering interdisciplinary research between neuroscience and the arts, social sciences, and humanities. Each Scholar in this highly selective program has proposed a novel cross-disciplinary research project at the intersection of neuroscience and at least one other field, which they will conduct over the course of the three-year fellowship. Presidential Scholars join a vibrant community of postdoctoral researchers and faculty mentors and affiliates from across Columbia University. 

Stanford’s Center on Food Security and the Environment (FSE) seeks applicants to our postdoctoral fellowship for Fall 2026.  The fellowship is awarded to promising young scholars with a demonstrated ability to do innovative and rigorous work related to global hunger, poverty alleviation, and environmental degradation. Successful candidates are expected to lead projects of their own design, while also interacting with other faculty and students at FSE. We encourage candidates from both the social and natural sciences to apply.

The Mellon Gender and LGBTQ+ History Postdoctoral Fellow works as a public historian for The New York Historical’s Center for Women’s History. The Gender and LGBTQ+ History Postdoctoral Fellow will strengthen the interpretive and pedagogical aspects of LGBTQ+ programming, expanding interdisciplinary efforts to encompass the intersection of women's history with gender studies and LGBTQ+ history, as The New York Historical prepares to engage fully with the new American LGBTQ+ Museum.

The New York Historical and the Patricia D. Klingenstein Library provide a rich environment for research and learning. Fellows, most of whom work from a study center on the the Edith & Frances Mulhall Achilles Mezzanine, are encouraged to explore the collections, to take advantage of the full scope of the Library and Museum’s resources, and to share their research during their tenure through informal talks and blog posts.

The Princeton University Center for Human Values invites applications for the Harold T. Shapiro Postdoctoral Fellowship in Bioethics for a possible available position starting in September 2024. The Shapiro Fellowship supports outstanding scholars studying ethical issues arising from developments in medicine, the biological sciences, or population health. We particularly encourage proposals focusing on problems of practical importance that have broader theoretical interest.
