About UN University

For the past four decades, the United Nations University (UNU) has been a go-to think tank for impartial research on the pressing global problems of human survival, conflict prevention, development, and welfare. With more than 400 researchers in 13 countries, UNU’s work spans the full breadth of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, generating policy-relevant knowledge to effect positive global change. UNU maintains more than 200 collaborations with UN agencies and leading universities and research institutions across the globe.

The MSCA-IF scheme grants two types of research fellowships:

Casa de Velázquez and the Madrid Institute for Advanced Study already welcome two Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowships researchers, Nicolas Simon (FNRS-Université Louvain-La Neuve), since 2019 and Margarida Barroso (ISCTE-IUL), since 2020.

These Fellowships support Warwick staff to develop new research collaborations in countries on the DAC List of ODA Recipients. The awards will support Warwick academics to visit research institutions in these countries and for researchers from those countries to make extended visits to Warwick with the aim of establishing long-term research partnerships & networks and developing a future GCRF (Global Ch

The Jordan – UK El Hassan bin Talal Research Chair in Sustainability is a joint initiative between the British Academy and the Royal Scientific Society of Jordan (RSS). Its aim is to enhance the research and innovation capacity of Jordan for long-term sustainable development.

Ongoing work at the Social Science Research Council (SSRC) over the past several years, including our 2018 “To Secure Knowledge” report, has identified the importance of access to socially-relevant data in order for researchers to address large issues that inform, empower, and protect the public interest. Much of this data, including social media and the algorithms that determine how information is shared, is proprietary, held by private companies and inaccessible for independent research projects.

The Waseda Institute for Advanced Study is committed to promoting the university-wide acceptance of leading researchers from other countries as well as to facilitating the production of research results, scholarly exchange with researchers at Waseda, and other such outcomes. For this purpose, the Institute invites researchers doing work at the cutting edge of their fields as a Visiting Scholar.
